Vintage Native American Papago Made Basket

The Native American (Papago) Tohono O’odham or Desert People live in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona and Mexico. This beautiful basket was created using the open coil method where coils of grasses are bundled and then the coils are stacked and woven together with yucca plant. The interior of the basket was designed with an eagle. The outside has animals all around the piece.
