1970s Native American Navajo Made Beaded Pipe and Tobacco Bags
This pipe bag was created using soft deerskin and has a hand beaded section depicting a turtle and prayer feathers. Many Native Americans believe we live on the back of a turtle. The feathers are prayer feathers. This older bag has fringe and accented with glass beads. The pipe bag closes with a long white leather strap to tie it closed. The tobacco bag is simple with a drawstring.
