Vintage Native American Hopi-Made Wicker Plaque
This vintage Hopi wicker plaque is used for payback and for ceremonies. This is a very colorful and beautiful basket that is very tightly woven. These baskets are made by plaiting sumac, natural and dyed, to achieve many designs. Many of the Hopi wickers, coils, and sifters are used for social or ceremonial purposes. This basket shows a little age, some of the white is flaking off the dyed sumac, but it does not take away from the beauty of this older wicker plaque.
Dimensions: 10.75 inches in diameter
