Native American Navajo-Made Ceramic Fine Etched Horsehair Pot with Butterfly
This beautiful finely etched horsehair pot has traditional symbols with a butterfly as the focal point. The butterfly is a symbol of beauty, springtime, and the plants that flourish. The shape of this pot indicates that it would have been used as a “smoke pot” or one in which the individual would place dried herbs and light the herbs in order to have them smolder and “smoke” or smudge to cleanse the area and the people of evil spirits.
Dimensions: 5.5 inches tall x 6 inches in diameter.
