Native American-Made Crow Father or Raven Warrior Katsina Doll
Crow Man is a warrior who challenges the clowns during the Plaza Dances, confronting them repeatedly for their non-Hopi behavior. Eventually, he and his fellow warriors descend upon the clowns to thoroughly chastise them. Raven, originally a creator and trickster god of the Haida tribe from the Northwest Coast, is said to have discovered the first humans hidden in a clam shell and brought them berries and salmon. Raven also endures the antics of his arch-rival, the Coyote. The craftsmanship of this piece is exceptional, with meticulous carving, painting, and attention to detail. ^
