Native American Acoma Hand-Painted and Tool-Marked Seed Pot
This exquisite hand-painted seed pot, signed by Acoma potter Beatrice Garcia, showcases traditional craftsmanship with tool marks around the opening. Adorned with classic Acoma geometric designs on both the top and body, this pot is a timeless example of Acoma pottery. Historically, these pots were used by women in the fall to store seeds for the next spring. They were stacked in a corner of the home, with each pot’s bottom sealing the top of the one below, effectively saving space and protecting the seeds from rodents. ^
