Hatchets and Tomahawks

At Gray Wolf Trading Post, we offer an extensive collection of reproduction Native American tomahawks and hatchets, all handcrafted by artists from various tribes. These unique pieces of art and craft are made using natural materials, ensuring authenticity and quality.

Our selection includes Weeping Heart hatchets, brass hatchets, jawbone, deer horn, metal, and stone tomahawks. If you’re searching for an authentic, handmade reproduction tomahawk or hatchet, Kachina House is the place to find it. Our artifacts are crafted by Navajo, Creek, and Apache artists.

The Peace Pipe Ceremony is a significant tradition where two chiefs meet to negotiate. The Medicine Man brings the stem of the pipe, one chief carries the bowl, and the other the mouthpiece. Each part must be present for peace to be achieved. The Smokerhawk or Weeping Heart hatchet has a special role in this ceremony. If the chiefs reach an agreement, they smoke the pipe and bury the hatchet, which is the origin of the phrase “bury the hatchet.” If no agreement is reached, it signifies impending war, symbolized by the cut-out bleeding heart on the hatchet.

Our weapons are authentic reproductions, handmade in the Southwest, and each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity. For those in search of quality, handmade tomahawks, hatchets, or other Native American weapons, Gray Wolf Trading Post is your destination. ^
